here is another version.....i liked the addition of the shadowed lines....a stacking of lines in 2 realities

on my screen now .....it seems as tho the bottom dark layers are cut off.....we'll see what the post brings,  i may have to try again.....

well, these are certainly no josh, cole, christi images...but doll....think where i started from !!!!!     hee hee

#4 0f 52 creations 'line'

ahhhhhhhhhh...i'm sooooooo excited  and here's why!!!!

i did this allllllllll myself  ( i'm home alone tonight...jojo and dad are out to the father/daughter valentine's ball and tomorrow my day is pretty full so...i thot i'd try it)

i even edited some...  as you can see:

oh bummer...i just noticed my title...i meant it to be lines

(ahhhhhhh...and i wanted this to be perfect !!??!!)   oh well, i'm not done yet..i can fix it on my next post

this is what i set out to do last week when the radiator caught my eye.....

3A and 3B of 52 [08-09]

As usual, I couldn't decide which I wanted for the week. :) Oh well--better to have too many that too few I suppose. One is our hotel with some crazy camera settings, and the other is a simple macro shot of the first latte I had in Portland. Needless to say, both the hotel and the latte were amazing. whew...this editing, enhancing, etc. has me all confused regarding the whole process of downloading !!!!   i think this is the original shot in the end ......   oh well, at least it's on   : )

actually, i was about to 'create' this week's 'stack' when my eye caught this visual, i snapped it, liked it..... and so.......... now, you'll have to wait until next week to see my original thot .... ; )

2 of 52 [08-09]

Finding myself being overly productive this week, I decided to look no further than my classroom for inspiration in my spare time. I realized that, for all the hard work I put in to make my classroom a stimulating environment for my kiddos, it is in fact rather monotonous. So, I decided to try and make the most monotonous objects I could find a little more interesting. Thirty minutes of playing around with camera settings later, here's what I came up with. (Yes, that is the contents of your run-of-the-mill Cup of Noodles.)

now, i will know to do that BEFORE i post but for now i thot i would submit a second one as i don't YET know how to recover a posted image to edit...maybe one can't !?!

well...here's #2!

this was kind of a crazily busy week so, one day i just grabbed the camera as i ran out on an errand-- keeping my eyes open for a 'stacking' image in my everyday world.......    and ...... i actually 'saw' a few options !!!!    

 oh, again, how very fun this challenge is    : )

when i get playful, i have again a childlike faith  and that faith tells me that i can edge ahead...

The Never-Ending Hair Saga

Alright...for those of you not in Colorado, here it is! It's significantly darker than it was the first time so that if it fades again it won't look, well, green. I love it!

A New Look and Some New Thoughts

No, you're not in the wrong place...this is still the Sletten blog! It's just been updated ever so slightly to keep it fresh. I guess it's a small effort from a haystack of ideas that I have about how to keep the mundane from taking over this January. We'll see, I guess. Being back in class the past two days has already contributed to some significant tiredness, which will be the biggest obstacle I think. But enough about that...

This morning, we used our gift cards to get some tasty Chai in honor of Jojo. Thanks guys! If only you were here to drink it with us.

It's no Portland...

...but Denver now has it's own unique ice cream shop! Cole found this place a few months ago and took me there today for malts after lunch. It's certainly not as ridiculously-good-over-the-top-stomach-ache-causing-whipped-cream-and-cookies kind of place like Portland's, but it's so stinking cute! (And delicious, I might add.) Just another reason to come visit us sooner rather than later.

okay, cole wrote the last one under my name...the stinker! we are just chillin' at my parents for the new year, enjoying more rest and relaxation. i was just thinking about all of you and wanted to say thanks again for such a fabulous week in minnesota. it was more than i could have asked for, and i loved loved loved it. and i love you! (and miss you a lot!)
